Top 6 Landing Page Tools

Top 6 Landing Page Tools

Digital marketing today is all about generating targeted leads with a proven potential to buy. It’s a pretty well-known fact that generic homepages no longer deliver results, meaning that companies need a host of landing pages that pinpoint specific customer needs.

Yet, building these pages from scratch can be an arduous process with a lot of testing, optimizing, and trial-and-error before getting them right. Luckily, there are certain landing page tools that help you manage these pages for better performance.

What Is a Landing Page?

Before going into the nitty-gritty of the process and the tools that help in creating landing pages, we need to talk a bit about what landing pages are and what makes them so important. Also known as a lead capture page, a landing page is a single web page that’s loaded once a user clicks on a search-engine-optimized search result, a marketing email, promotion, or online advertisement.

A landing page will typically show directed sales copy, that should be a logical extension of the search result, link, or advertisement that brought people to the page in the first place. These pages include:

  • A headline and an optional sub-headline
  • A brief description of the what’s being offered
  • A minimum of one supporting image and/or short video
  • Social proof in the form of testimonials, customer logos, or security badges (optional)
  • A form to gather customer information
  • One or more calls-to-action (CTAs) to direct visitors to the next step (less is more)

Landing pages are used for lead generation. They can be found organically through search, meaning that SEO optimization, testing, and constant performance monitoring are critical elements for success. Likewise, landing pages can be promoted and accessed via paid ads. They can take the form of the website’s homepage, a page within the overall site structure, or a standalone page specifically created for a certain event, sale, promotion, or another way of generating conversions

What Is a Landing Page Builder Software?

An effective landing page builder software will help a business create easy-to-use landing pages for your target audience to navigate. They help you increase your conversion rate by allowing you to choose between different landing page designs and templates that have already been tested for effectiveness.

In most cases, you’ll only have to deal with drag-and-drop features for easy customization. You will likely have a lean learning curve where the CTA, image, color, and text options are easy to find and manipulate.

Below are six such landing page creators and testing tools that you can use to create a high converting landing page every single time.

A great tool for building landing pages is Instapage. It provides over 200 templates, which allow you to customize based on your social media campaigns. You can also make more advanced changes to your pages by using HTML, CSS, or Javascript which will greatly enhance your pages’ look and functionality.

In addition, Instapage grants access to over 33 million Bigstock images available to purchase for your landing pages. It supports your need for mobile-friendliness, by providing capability to edit the mobile version of the page.  Plus, you can A/B test Google AMP-powered landing pages and view heatmaps, showing where people scroll through your page. You can also publish your landing pages directly to Facebook when using Instapage.

Instapage Benefits:

  • A simple yet powerful editor
  • Allows you to create your own blocks
  • Detailed integrated website statistics
  • Multiple integrations
  • Heatmaps
  • Separate editing for mobile and desktop web page versions
  • Availability of integrated image gallery

Instapage Drawbacks:

  • Having to buy as many as 30 landing pages in one plan
  • No integrated domain name provider
  • Traffic limitations of unique visitors to 30,000 per month

Pricing starts at $129 a month for the basic plan and goes up from there.

As its name would suggest, the idea is that this tool will reduce your bounce rate and help with your conversions. Unbounce offers over 125 landing page templates, which can be easily edited to suit every brand’s individual needs. And even though this is not a tool specifically designed for beginners, users don’t need advanced design skills to build professional-looking and mobile-friendly landing pages. You can either edit an already-existing template or build a page from scratch using a drag-and-drop process.

Unbounce also offers A/B testing capabilities as well as the possibility to track your pages’ effectiveness. You have access to a dynamic text replacement feature, meaning that you can change keywords across all of your landing pages in real-time. The platform also provides seamless communication between team members as well as the possibility to add an unlimited number of users in different roles such as “Author”, “Viewer”, or “Administrator”. Each of them will have a different level of accessibility.

There is a cap that Unbounce puts on the number of landing pages you can create, depending on the plan. The same can be said about integration with other tools. For instance, the basic plan doesn’t have integration with Marketo or Salesforce, whereas the other plans do.

Unbounce Benefits:

  • Beautiful and easy-to-use templates
  • Fully featured
  • Powerful and flexible editor
  • Great A/B testing tool
  • Popups and Sticky Bar creator

Unbounce Drawbacks:

  • May require a learning curve to master
  • Not specifically intended for beginner users
  • Somewhat expensive when compared with other landing page creator tools

Pricing starts at $99 a month for the basic plan and goes up from there.

Landingi calls itself the “landing page builder for non-programmers.” It provides over 200 templates and an easy-to-use editor. Plus, you can import any landing page file to modify your page design. The platform also has custom HTML, CSS, and Javascript code integration, or you can call on the Landingi team to build landing pages on your behalf.

Unlike Unbounce, Landingi allows for the creation of an unlimited number of landing pages, users, and domains. It does, however, put a cap on the number of total available templates, as well as testing capabilities, image and icon libraries, integrations, and several other features for their basic plan. Nevertheless, Landingi provides useful collaboration features, allowing you to invite coworkers and clients to review pages and make recommendations wherever necessary.

Landingi Benefits:

  • Unlimited landing pages, leads, domains, traffic, and users
  • Solid landing page editor
  • Useful design features
  • Several automation features
  • Analytics capabilities

Landingi Drawbacks:

  • No A/B testing with the basic package
  • Limited tool integrations with the basic package

Pricing starts at $11 a month and goes up from there.

Though it’s the most basic landing page builder on this list, Launchrock has several things going for it. For starters, you can use it to create landing pages for free. There are several other plans that come at a modest cost and provide some additional features such as advanced user analytics and reporting, custom HTML and CSS, and no promotions. In addition, once you’ve created your pages, you can share them on social media and have them discovered by the Launchrock audience, which will help boost their exposure.

The platform doesn’t provide A/B testing, however, nor does it provide a rich host of features. It does keep track of performance via its analytics tools and offers a free, simple, and versatile alternative to other paid platforms. Launchrock is aimed toward early-stage entrepreneurs and new startups on a tight budget.

Launchrock Benefits:

  • Free of charge
  • Fast and easy-to-use builder
  • It has promotion features
  • It has analytics capabilities

Launchrock Drawbacks:

  • It doesn’t have A/B testing
  • Limited customization options
  • Not suited for larger organizations

Pricing starts at $29 a month not to mention the limited free version.

Lander offers a high degree of control for customization and design. This makes it a perfect option for those who know exactly what they want. The platform is also great for mobile landing page editing for better conversions across the sales funnel.

Of course, this means that Lander has a steeper learning curve than the other tools presented here. Though when mastered, it’s among the best tools on this list. With its form auto-fill feature, it captures lead info like no other.

The tool allows you to publish your pages to Facebook and offers dynamic text replacement. This feature helps you match the keywords on your PPC ad to your landing page. That said, Lander does put a cap on the total number of unique views of your landing pages on both of its plans. The basic plan, for instance, limits this to 5,000 monthly visits, while the professional plans restrict them at 25,000. So, if you’re expecting a ton of traffic on your website, Lander might not be the tool for you.

Lander Benefits:

  • Low starting prices
  • Two-week free trial
  • Facebook landing pages
  • It has custom code editing

Lander Drawbacks:

  • Limited integrations, particularly with its basic plan
  • Limited customization options
  • Traffic limitations
  • Below average editor

Pricing starts at $49 a month

Probably the best-known landing page creator here is LeadPages. In terms of what it has to offer, LeadPages is similar to the other entries here. There are, however, several unique features that make it stand out. One of them is that they have a huge template library, which you can sort based on conversion rate. Do keep in mind that these conversion rates were based on past experiences and may not reflect your own conversion rate. Their success is also relative to your value proposition as well as your blog post niche.

Also, most templates come at a $10-15 cost each, which will add to the monthly fee for each plan. The basic plan is similar in price to Unbounce, but it only has landing page creator capabilities. In the higher tier plans, you get access to A/B testing, advanced (not standard) integrations, and other useful features. All in all, LeadPages is a robust and fairly easy-to-use landing page editor.

LeadPages Benefits:

  • Great lead page editor
  • Low starting price
  • Good quality A/B testing and analytics tools

LeadPages Drawbacks:

  • Limited customizations
  • Some templates come at a cost
  • A/B testing is only available in higher-tier packages.

Pricing starts at $37 a month
